Part-Time School Youth Worker (Contract: 4 Jan 2027 to 29 Oct 2027)

Working Hours

· 3 Days per week: Tue to Thur: 8.00am to 5.00pm, inclusive of 1 hour compulsory lunch break

Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:

• Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays: 8:00am to 5:00pm (inclusive of 1 hour compulsory lunch break)
• Estimated number of working hours per week = 8 hours x 3 days = 24 hours

The total estimated contract hours are: 936 hours

· Term 1 (10 weeks) = 10 x 24 hours = 240 hours

· Term 2 (10 weeks) = 10 x 24 hours = 240 hours

· Jun school holidays (2 weeks only) = 2x 24 = 48 hours

· Term 3 (10 weeks) = 10 x 24 hours = 240 hours

· Term 4 (7 weeks only) = 7 x 24 = 168 hours

Youth Worker will attend to cases on all days of the week as mentioned above.

Due to the nature of counselling work and provision of engagement activities to students, the number of hours of work required per day stipulated here is an estimate. For instance, during school examination periods, Youth Worker will report as required by the school. The vendor shall charge the school based on the actual number of hours worked capped at 1300 hours for the whole year.

School will give five (5) days advance notice to request for services of Youth Worker during school vacations which is a maximum of one to two days per week either in person or remotely (amounting to a total of 8 hours in the week) during the vacation periods stated above.

Offered Salary

· Please indicate your monthly expected salary based on the part-time work arrangements (e.g. 3 Days per week: Tue to Thur: 8.00am to 5.00pm, inclusive of 1 hour compulsory lunchbreak)

· Offered salary will be subject to Client’s approval

Please note that the monthly payment will be pro-rated if personnel is not required to work for the whole month. (for eg, during June holidays where only 2 weeks of service is needed)

Requirements

• A Diploma in Social or Youth work or any equivalent qualification;
• At least two years of relevant experience in social work or youth work, preferably in a school or community setting.
• Ability to develop, customise and deliver evidence-informed youth programmes that address students’ needs and interests.
• Ability to engage students and build effective partnerships with teachers, school leaders, parents and external agencies as part of a multi-disciplinary support network.
• Strong programme monitoring and evaluation skills, with the ability to identify areas for improvement.
• Ability to assess students’ needs and develop appropriate case, care and intervention plans.
• Ability to facilitate group work and support groups, and adapt intervention approaches according to students’ needs.
• A strong team player who is organised, adaptable and able to manage multiple students, programmes and competing priorities effectively.
• Demonstrates sound professional judgement, discretion and sensitivity when engaging with students and handling confidential or sensitive matters.
