Workshop Supervisor (Car Detailing)

We are looking for an experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead and manage our automotive detailing workshop and daily operations.

The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on knowledge and experience across car detailing, paint polishing, ceramic coating, Paint Protection Film (PPF), and vehicle wrapping. You will be responsible for supervising the workshop team, maintaining workmanship standards, allocating jobs, and ensuring vehicles are completed properly and on schedule.

This is a hands-on supervisory role suitable for someone who understands automotive detailing work and is confident leading a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead the workshop detailing and installation team

• Plan daily jobs and allocate manpower according to workload and staff skill levels

• Monitor job progress and ensure vehicles are completed within the required timeline

• Conduct quality checks before vehicle handover

• Ensure high workmanship standards across all services

• Identify workmanship issues and guide technicians on rectification

• Train and coach junior technicians to improve their skills and productivity

• Ensure proper preparation and installation procedures are followed

• Manage workshop workflow to minimise delays and improve efficiency

• Coordinate with the customer service and operations team on job requirements and completion times

• Maintain workshop cleanliness, organisation, tools and equipment

• Ensure materials and consumables are used properly and wastage is controlled

• Handle workshop issues and provide solutions when problems arise

• Ensure the team follows company SOPs and safety requirements

• Take responsibility for the overall quality and productivity of the workshop

Technical Knowledge & Experience

Candidates should have good practical knowledge and experience in:

• Professional automotive detailing

• Machine polishing and paint correction

• DA and rotary polishing

• Ceramic coating preparation and application

• Paint Protection Film (PPF) installation

• PPF installation on complex areas including bumpers, mirrors and curved panels

• Vehicle vinyl wrapping

• Surface preparation and decontamination

• Understanding of paint defects, scratches, swirl marks and polishing techniques

• Proper finishing and quality-control procedures

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of relevant automotive detailing experience

• Previous experience as a Workshop Supervisor, Team Leader, Senior Detailer or Senior Installer is preferred

• Strong knowledge of detailing, polishing, coating, PPF and wrapping

• Must be able to identify and rectify workmanship issues

• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a workshop team

• Able to plan manpower and organise multiple vehicles/jobs efficiently

• Responsible, disciplined and quality-focused

• Good communication and problem-solving skills

• Able to work in a fast-paced automotive workshop environment

• Hands-on attitude and willing to assist the team when required
