About the Role

Are you someone who wants to work for an innovative, fast-growing organisation with a strong team culture? We are looking for a hands-on Technician to join a manufacturing team in Singapore. In this role, you will build, repair, and test electro-mechanical assemblies and subassemblies used in semiconductor and display equipment. You will work from detailed work orders, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and play an active role in process improvement and quality assurance.

Compensation

Pay rates are aligned to qualifications and experience, plus shift allowances and overtime pay. Applied Materials determines the pay rate in your final offer.

Qualification and experience

Monthly pay

NITEC or O/A-level, 0–2 years’ experience

SGD 2,500 – 2,600

Higher NITEC with no experience, or O/A-level with 3–5 years

SGD 2,600 – 2,700

Diploma with no experience, or O/A-level with more than 5 years

SGD 2,800 – 3,100

NITEC or Diploma with 3–5 years

Up to SGD 3,200

NITEC or Diploma with more than 5 years, or Degree with 0–2 years

Up to SGD 3,400

Degree with more than 3 years, Diploma with more than 6 years, or current pay of SGD 3,200 or more

Up to SGD 3,600

What You Will Do

  • Read and interpret work orders including schematics, wiring diagrams, parts lists, and written instructions to build, repair, and test electrical, electro-mechanical, vacuum, and pneumatic assemblies

  • Perform a wide variety of electro-mechanical assembly operations, troubleshooting, and repairs across complex subassemblies and components

  • Receive parts and conduct audits to verify availability; inspect incoming parts for defects; identify and resolve process issues proactively

  • Use test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors, and/or vacuum pumps to validate assemblies and subassemblies

  • Complete required job documentation including data entry on work progress, labour hours, and materials; perform computer programming, repairs, or software installations as needed

  • Work independently with minimal supervision and serve as an informal resource and peer trainer for junior team members

What We Are Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

  • NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma, or O/A-level

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in semiconductor or display manufacturing, or equivalent industry or military technical experience

  • Related technical training or certifications in electro-mechanical systems

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to apply established procedures and scientific methods

  • Demonstrated ability to act as a peer leader and trainer in a team environment

  • Working knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing concepts and processes

Physical Requirements

This role is hands-on and can be physically demanding. It may involve standing for extended periods, walking, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, working in confined spaces, and operating heavy machinery. Work takes place in a clean-room environment requiring appropriate PPE such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields.

Normal colour vision is needed to read wiring colour codes. You will also need to be comfortable working in noisy environments.
