ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client is a game developer and licensor with a portfolio that has evolved from mid-to-heavy online titles into casual and board games. THE ROLE
We're looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team in Singapore. You will build and operate the infrastructure, automation and delivery systems that support our games, backend services, public websites, publishing and release operations, and internal platforms such as wikis and administrative tools.
The role spans local CI with Jenkins, automated checks in GitLab CI, containerized and Kubernetes-based environments, and cloud deployments. You will work with engineering, QA, product, publishing and operations teams to make delivery secure, repeatable, observable and resilient.
This is an on-site position based in Singapore.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own and continuously improve CI/CD, infrastructure and operational tooling across game builds, backend services, websites, publishing workflows and internal systems.
- Design, operate and maintain Jenkins pipelines, shared libraries, local or on-premises build agents, and reusable build, test, packaging and release workflows.
- Develop GitLab CI automation for linting, testing, code quality, security scanning, configuration validation and artifact generation.
- Automate multi-environment releases across review, hotfix, staging and production, including versioning, approval gates, release notifications, deployment verification and rollback.
- Operate containerized environments with Docker and Docker Compose, and maintain Kubernetes deployment patterns using Helm and GitOps practices.
- Manage cloud and platform infrastructure including compute, networking, DNS, ingress, TLS certificates, load balancers, container registries, storage, identity and secrets.
- Support shared services and data layers used by games and business systems, including gateways, web and admin tools, databases, caches and messaging platforms.
- Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, dashboards and alerting, and use operational data to improve capacity, performance, availability and cost efficiency.
- Strengthen security through least-privilege access, secrets rotation, patching, dependency and container-image scanning, infrastructure checks and auditable operational practices.
- Troubleshoot CI, deployment, infrastructure, networking and production incidents; lead root- cause analysis and implement durable corrective actions.
- Create automation, runbooks, architecture notes and handover documentation that reduce manual work and keep operational knowledge current and accessible.
REQUIREMENTS
Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of professional experience in DevOps, site reliability engineering, cloud engineering, platform engineering or a similar role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Jenkins pipelines, shared libraries, build agents and CI troubleshooting.
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD and automated quality, testing and security checks.
- Proven ability to design, write, test and maintain automation scripts and operational tooling using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Go or a comparable language.
- Production experience with at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud or an equivalent provider.
- Experience with Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes and Helm in development or production environments.
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills, with a solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, TLS, proxies and load balancing.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code, configuration management or GitOps practices using tools such as Terraform, Ansible or equivalent.
- Good understanding of observability, cloud security, incident response, backup and recovery, and production-readiness practices.
- Strong problem-solving, documentation and English communication skills, with willingness to work on-site in Singapore.
Good to Have
- Hands-on experience with Alibaba Cloud services, particularly container registries, managed Kubernetes or serverless application platforms, networking, storage, logging and monitoring.
- Experience supporting Unity build automation, cache servers, asset or bundle generation, and Windows or macOS game build agents.
- Experience with Argo CD, GitOps deployment models, reusable Helm charts, sealed secrets, and horizontal or vertical autoscaling.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, Kafka, NATS or similar data and messaging systems, including backup and recovery workflows.
- Experience operating public websites, internal wikis or content platforms, administrative tools, and authentication or access-management services.
- Experience supporting game publishing, mobile release, content-delivery or partner-facing deployment workflows.
- Experience designing highly available systems, autoscaling, disaster recovery, and cloud cost or capacity optimization.
- Passion for games or prior experience supporting production systems in the gaming industry.
