Mechanical Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of design engineers, providing technical guidance, coaching, and support.
• Oversee the full product and equipment design and development lifecycle.
• Ensure engineering projects are delivered according to cost, quality, and schedule requirements.
• Plan and allocate engineering resources effectively across projects.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership in mechanical design, analysis, problem-solving, and troubleshooting.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to achieve project and business objectives.
• Engage directly with customers and colleagues through face-to-face discussions, conference calls, and emails.
• Review project requirements and provide regular updates on product development progress.
• Drive technical excellence and continuous improvement within the Engineering team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• More than 10 years of experience in equipment design within the semiconductor, automation, solar, or consumer electronics industries.
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience leading or managing a team of design engineers in equipment design.
• Strong foundation in mechanical engineering concepts and analytical problem-solving.
• Sound knowledge of tolerance stack-up analysis and Finite Element Analysis.
• Proficiency in 3D solid modelling is essential, with SolidWorks experience preferred.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to interact confidently with customers and colleagues.
• Self-motivated, independent, flexible, and results-oriented.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
