Compliance Officer (Waste Management)

We are seeking a Compliance Officer to ensure waste handling and disposal activities comply with Singapore regulatory requirements. The role involves conducting inspections, maintaining compliance records and working with regulatory agencies and internal teams to improve waste management practices.
Responsibilities
• Conduct regular inspections of waste management facilities, equipment and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Develop and implement waste management policies and procedures to minimise waste generation and promote recycling and reuse.
• Review waste management data to identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost savings.
• Coordinate with Sales, Operations and Laboratory teams to ensure internal and external waste handling meets NEA requirements.
• Train employees on proper waste handling and disposal procedures.
• Maintain accurate compliance records, including permits, inspection reports and waste management documentation.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies and respond to enquiries regarding waste management activities.
• Support environmental audits and develop corrective action plans to address findings.
• Monitor changes in regulations and industry practices, and recommend updates to internal processes.
• Support compliance with relevant SCDF, NEA, PUB and MOM requirements.
Requirements
• Diploma in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in waste management and regulatory compliance, including experience as a Compliance Officer or Compliance Manager.
• Experience in risk management and knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and controls.
