Dental Assistant / Dental Surgery Assistant

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up dental chairs, instruments, and equipment for clinical sessions.
• Provide chairside support to dental students during clinical procedures.
• Assist in maintaining accurate basic dental charting and clinic documentation.
• Clean, disinfect, and prepare dental chairs and treatment areas between patients.
• Clean, organize, and arrange dental instruments for reprocessing and sterilization.
• Ensure proper handling, return, and tracking of dental instruments.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and workplace safety regulations.
• Guide and support students in complying with infection control and hygiene standards.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas and nurse stations.
• Participate in student orientation programs related to infection control practices.
• Conduct competency training on Bunsen burner usage, handling of sharps, and dental chair wipe-down procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum Nitec qualification or equivalent.
• At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in a dental, healthcare, or clinical support environment.
• Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization processes, and infection control procedures.
• Familiarity with workplace safety regulations and clinical housekeeping standards.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment.
