Executive, Community & Volunteer Engagement

CHILDREN'S AID LIMITED

Role Purpose

To build corporate and individual partnerships with external stakeholders who are keen to contribute to Children’s Aid Limited (CAL) through philanthropic and volunteering means. The role will take a lead in planning and executing fundraising events, strengthening donor stewardship, and supporting initiatives that advance the organisation’s fundraising goals.

The position is based at CAL’s office in Woodlands.

Key Responsibilities

1. Community Engagement

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with corporates, donors, and community partners to strengthen sustainable support for CAL, particularly through email engagement and initial contact with new prospects.

  • Develop and pitch tailored engagement proposals to prospective corporate partners and individuals to secure their support for CAL’s programmes and fundraising initiatives.

  • Gather feedback, track participation and outcomes, and recommend improvements to engagement activities.

2. Fundraising Events & Projects Management

  • Manage donors who contribute to meal sponsorships and donations-in-kind for CAL. Build and maintain strong relationships with these donors, fostering ongoing engagement to encourage continued and expanded support. This includes being present at both services when donors give in person, as well as following up through meetings, calls, or emails to personally thank them for their contributions.

  • Lead the planning, organisation, and execution of creative and impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) events, workshops, and activities at Melrose Home.

    • Manage end-to-end event logistics, including venue sourcing, vendor coordination, sponsorship arrangements, programme design, volunteer management, and on-site execution. Delivering meaningful experiences enables the CP team and other executives to build stronger, more personal relationships with partners, fostering deeper and more sustained contributions.

    • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess event outcomes, participant satisfaction, and areas for improvement.

    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to CP activities, including liaising with relevant authorities for necessary permits and licences.

  • Support the planning, organisation, and execution of fundraising events led by other colleagues in the Community Partnerships team.

3. Volunteer Management

  • Maintain accurate volunteer databases and oversee administrative processes.

  • For the purpose of meeting regulatory requirements, ensure that the volunteer management process is regularly reviewed in accordance with current SOPs, and that all documentation is accurate, up to date, and consistently maintained. This includes verifying volunteer information at onboarding, tracking training and screening records, and keeping records in a secure and audit‑ready format to support compliance and accountability.

  • Evaluate volunteer programmes regularly and implement improvements where necessary.

  • Coordinate with the Head, Community Partnership and internal stakeholders to effectively deploy volunteers for programmes and events.

  • Manage and cultivate relationships with volunteers, especially within the Befrienders programme, to deepen their engagement, ensure a positive volunteer experience, and encourage long‑term commitment. This includes providing regular communication and care, recognising their contributions, addressing their concerns, and facilitating opportunities for feedback and growth so they feel valued and connected to CAL’s mission.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Business, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Event Management, or related field.

  • Preferably 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, partnerships, or event management, ideally within the social service or nonprofit sector.

  • Proven ability to manage events independently with strong project management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.

  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

We are looking for someone who is proactive, relationship-driven and comfortable with fundraising, with the ability to turn conversations and engagement opportunities into meaningful, long-term support for CAL.
