About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and organised Science Lab Assistant to support the science laboratory operations and provide administrative support in an MOE Junior College near Serangoon & Lorong Chuan(CC 14) MRT. You will work closely with the HOD/LH-Science and Vice Principal, Administration Managers/Executives and School Leaders to ensure smooth school operations.
Key Responsibilities
Open and lock science laboratories doors and windows to ensure safety and security of the premises
Maintain general cleanliness and tidiness of lab equipment and workspaces
Maintain general cleanliness of school premises as assigned
Assist in the preparation of apparatus, equipment and chemical reagents for Science Practical lessons
Clean, maintain and store science laboratory apparatus, equipment and materials
Provide support STEM instructors and assist with other related duties as assigned
Minimum qualification: Primary school education and able to read and write in simple English
Must be able to handle chemicals such as acids and bases
Some knowledge of Science laboratory safety
Preferably 1 year of working experience in a science laboratory in a Junior College
Employment Details
Contract Period: From 1 January to 31 December 2027
Working Hours
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 8:00am to 5:15pm, inclusive of a 45mins lunch break
Wednesday: 8:00am to 4:45pm, inclusive of a 45mins lunch break
During examination periods, personnel must be able to start work at 7:00am. Time-off-in-lieu will be granted for additional hours worked beyond the stipulated working hours.
Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
