Motor Vehicle Mechanic

A Motor Vehicle Mechanic (also commonly referred to as an Automotive Service Technician or Auto Mechanic) is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing cars, light trucks, and other motor vehicles. Their primary goal is to ensure vehicles operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Maintenance & Servicing

• Perform routine fluid changes, including engine oil, transmission fluid, coolant, and brake fluid.

• Replace wear-and-tear items such as oil filters, air filters, cabin filters, spark plugs, wiper blades, and drive belts.

• Conduct tire rotations, balancing, wheel alignments, and pressure checks.

  Mechanical & Electrical Repairs

  Brake Systems: Inspect, resurface, or replace brake pads, rotors, drums, calipers, lines, and ABS components.

  Engine & Drivetrain: Repair or replace timing belts/chains, water pumps, head gaskets, alternators, starters, clutches, transmissions, and drive shafts.

  Suspension & Steering: Repair shocks, struts, control arms, ball joints, tie rods, and power steering components.

  HVAC Systems: Test, evacuate, recharge, and repair automotive heating and air conditioning systems.

  Electrical Systems: Trace wiring issues, repair lighting, replace batteries, and service electronic control units (ECUs).

  Required Skills & Qualifications

  Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of gasoline, diesel, hybrid, and electric vehicle (EV) mechanical and electrical systems.

  Problem-Solving: Strong logical diagnostic and analytical skills to troubleshoot complex mechanical or electronic issues.

  Valid driver’s Singapore license with a clean driving record
