Assistant Production Manager (Food Manufacturing)

1. Production Management & Operations

• Assist the Production Manager in overseeing daily production operations and ensuring production targets, schedules and delivery requirements are met.

• Monitor production output, yield, machine utilisation, wastage and downtime to improve operational efficiency and control costs.

• Coordinate with QA, Warehouse, Purchasing and Logistics to ensure smooth production flow.

• Participate actively in production activities, product trials and the implementation of processing specifications.

2. Quality & Food Safety

• Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, SFA regulations, ISO 22000 and company food safety standards.

• Maintain product quality, consistency, hygiene, sanitation and housekeeping standards.

• Support audits, investigate production issues and implement corrective actions.

3. Team & Manpower Management

• Supervise and guide production supervisors, line leaders and operators to achieve production targets.

• Coordinate manpower planning, attendance and shift scheduling.

• Train and develop production staff on SOPs, processing techniques, food safety and workplace safety.

4. Inventory, Cost & Safety Control

• Monitor raw material usage, inventory and production wastage.

• Support cost reduction, process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.

• Ensure accurate production records and compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements.

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in food manufacturing, food processing or meat processing.

• Experience in meat processing and manufacturing of meat products will be an added advantage.

• Operationally hands-on, with good production management and team leadership capabilities.

• Good knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SFA requirements and food safety practices.

• Good communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

• Relevant qualifications in Food Science, Food Technology or Manufacturing will be an advantage.
