Job position: Science and Math Assistant

Contract Period: 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027.

Option period: 1 January 2028 to 31 December 2028.

Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30am to 5:00pm; Fridays: 7:30am to 4:30pm. Each day includes a one-hour lunch break.

The school may shorten lunch to 30 minutes with a corresponding adjustment to the end time, or change the start time for operational needs.

Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays.

School experience, particularly in Science and Mathematics support, is preferred.

English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills to understand lesson instructions and support teaching resources.

Ability to use basic Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Ability to complete work independently and seek clarification when needed.

1. Prepare Science apparatus for experiments and put it away after lessons.

2. Organise Mathematics and Science resources in cupboards and laboratories.

3. Carry out simple non-technical repairs and minor maintenance of equipment, teaching aids and storage materials.

4. Work with teachers to create manipulatives and other learning materials.

5. Support photography, simple teaching videos, recess activities and programme preparations for both departments.

6. Provide administrative support as deployed by the school.

7. Assist department heads with annual stock lists and stocktakes; organise the return and collection of teachers' desk copies.
