Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Alibaba Cloud) - 12-Month Contract

Job Summary

We are hiring three cloud infrastructure engineers with hands-on Alibaba Cloud project experience for a 12-month enterprise cloud deployment and operations engagement in Singapore. You will be employed by COGNITIO AI PTE. LTD. and assigned to work on-site with an enterprise client. You will deploy, configure, and support cloud infrastructure to ensure a secure, reliable production environment.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and support cloud compute, storage, networking, identity, and access controls on Alibaba Cloud to maintain secure and efficient infrastructure.
• Set up and manage cloud-hosted database services, including connectivity, access management, backups, and recovery testing to ensure data availability and integrity.
• Support workload deployment and migration activities, validate environments, and perform technical handovers to client teams.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems; investigate incidents and execute corrective actions to maintain system reliability.
• Apply agreed security configurations and follow change-management procedures to safeguard cloud environments.
• Maintain clear and accurate configuration records, deployment instructions, and operational runbooks for knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
• Collaborate with client teams and vendors to resolve technical issues and achieve project milestones efficiently.
• Troubleshoot common infrastructure issues, document findings, escalate complex problems appropriately, and adhere to enterprise change-control processes.

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or cloud operations with demonstrated project delivery experience.
• Hands-on involvement in production cloud deployment, migration, or infrastructure implementation projects, with clear responsibility for assigned technical tasks.
• Hands-on production experience with Alibaba Cloud services including ECS, VPC networking, RAM, OSS, and ApsaraDB RDS or equivalent database services.
• Practical skills in configuring and troubleshooting Alibaba Cloud connectivity, access controls, monitoring, and backup arrangements.
• Strong understanding of Linux or Windows server administration, TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, and cloud access management.
• Experience supporting relational databases or managed database services, including backup and restore procedures.
• Proficient in clear written and spoken English to collaborate effectively with client stakeholders and technical teams.
• Availability for a 12-month contract and on-site work in Singapore.
• Only Singaporeans.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Relevant Alibaba Cloud certification.
• Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure automation tools to streamline cloud deployments.
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate operational tasks.
• Experience supporting enterprise cloud deployments or migrations in client-facing roles.
