Responsibility We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Lorry Driver to join our team engaged in the manufacture of other food products categorized as "Not Elsewhere Classified" (N.E.C.), excluding food chemicals and additives. As a Lorry Driver in this role, you will be responsible for transporting food products and ingredients to and from production facilities, distribution centers, and customer locations.
The ideal candidate will have a valid commercial driver's license (CDL), a clean driving record, and familiarity with food transportation regulations and safety standards.
Job Description
* Safely and efficiently transport food products, ingredients, and supplies to designated locations using a lorry or other heavy vehicles.
* Assist with the loading and unloading of food products onto the lorry, ensuring that they are properly secured and handled according to food safety guidelines.
* Coordinate delivery schedules with production supervisors, logistics coordinators, and customers to ensure timely delivery of products and adherence to delivery instructions.
* Plan and optimize delivery routes to minimize travel time, fuel consumption, and vehicle wear and tear, while adhering to traffic regulations and safety standards.
* Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on the lorry, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and overall vehicle condition, and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
* Adhere to food transportation regulations and safety procedures at all times, including proper loading and securing of cargo, safe driving practices, and compliance with hygiene standards.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery schedules, mileage logs, and any relevant paperwork or documentation required for food transportation.
* Communicate effectively with production supervisors, logistics coordinators, and customers to coordinate delivery schedules, report any delays or issues, and ensure smooth operations.
* Provide excellent customer service to customers and stakeholders, including assisting with unloading and delivery verification, and addressing any concerns or inquiries in a professional manner.
* Able to carry heavy goods, roughly 20KG - 40KG.
* Able to work in pressure environment and need work under the sun.
* Need work at public holiday, weekend and overtime.
Working Location: BEDOK NORTH, 1ST trip will start at 6 am-630am
Requirement
- At least 2
Year(s) working experience and related field are required for this position.
- Must possess at least higher Education/ Diploma in any field.
- Possess a Singapore Class 3 driving license or able to take Class 3 Driving License.
- Familiar driving on Singapore roads or able to use GPS
- Strategic & critical thinking as well as decision-making and negotiation skills.
- Able to adapt, prioritize, exercise initiative, manage pressure, multi task and work independently.
- Excellent customer service skills, including communication skills, problem solving skills, organizational skills and teamwork spirit.
- Time management/ meticulous and mature in work.
