JOB DESCRIPTION:

Department: Machinery Productive Management Enhancement

Reports to: General Manager of Monozukuri Engineering Division

Functional relationships:

- Machinery R&D division in Japan

- Machinery Engineering section in the ASEAN factory

POSITION PROFILE:
The Principal Engineer will lead the enhancement efforts of the Machinery Productive Maintenance department, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency of machinery across the organization. This role involves strategic planning, project management, and hands-on technical expertise.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Policy, strategy alignment, and coordination of projects by collaborating with Japan HQ or other group company in Japan
• To initiate periodical meetings with Japan HQ or other group companies to solve problems in their division.
• Implement machine safety enhancement in ASEAN factories by instilling MMC safety standard
• Implement network enhancements on all machinery for productive maintenance.
• Identify maintenance ability assessments in ASEAN factories to establish benchmarks for measuring maintenance efficiency.
• Introduce predictive maintenance techniques using advanced technologies such as IoT sensors and predictive analytics.
• Develop and implement strategies with overseas factories and Japan HQ to enhance machinery productivity and reliability in ASEAN.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the maintenance team.
• Troubleshoot complex machinery issues and implement effective solutions.
• Conduct training sessions for maintenance personnel to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Ability/Competency required:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in machinery maintenance or machine design, focusing on productivity enhancement.
• Strong technical proficiency in mechanical systems, electrical systems, and automation technologies.
• Native-level Japanese speaking & writing is required to support communication with Japan and other overseas affiliates.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver results on schedule.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Practical communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
