Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Assistant Director of Nursing / Deputy Director of Nursing to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and directing the overall operations of the nursing departments in alignment with the organization's strategic plan. They will lead a nursing team, manage staffing needs, conduct ward rounds, mentor/supervise nurses in their clinical practice, and actively participate in hospital committees and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement nursing strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Ensure nursing services are in compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions to enhance patient care delivery.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Provide strong leadership to the nursing team, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous learning.
  • Manage staffing needs, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of nursing staff.
  • Conduct regular ward rounds to assess patient care, address any issues, and ensure quality standards are maintained.

Clinical Practice and Mentorship:

  • Mentor and supervise nurses in their clinical practice, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to evidence-based practices, protocols, and clinical guidelines to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Facilitate educational programs and workshops to enhance the skills and knowledge of nursing staff.

Participation in Committees and Projects:

  • Actively participate in hospital committees related to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management.
  • Lead or contribute to various projects aimed at enhancing nursing practices, patient care delivery, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to drive initiatives that improve overall healthcare outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse with a minimum of 12 years of nursing management experience, including at least 5 years in a Senior Nurse Manager or above role.
  • Preferably holds a Post-Graduate degree in Management or Nursing, with an Advanced Diploma in Midwifery, Pediatrics, Medical Surgical, Perioperative, NICU, or related disciplines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a proven track record of inspiring and motivating teams.
  • Experience or involvement in Quality and Risk Management Committee/Task Force/Projects is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of industry trends and advancements.
