Senior Occupational Therapist (Paediatrics)

Bright Steps is a newly established private paediatric therapy centre located near i12 Katong. Purpose-built to focus on supporting children with developmental, sensory, and functional needs. The clinic provides evidence-based, child and family-centred care in a warm collaborative, welcoming environment.

Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team. This role combines clinical excellence with opportunities to contribute to clinical governance, service development, and team leadership. You will work with children across a range of developmental needs while helping to shape high-quality therapy standards within the clinic.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments for children (e.g. sensory processing, fine motor, ADLs, developmental delays)

  • Develop and implement individualised, goal-oriented therapy plans

  • Deliver evidence-based interventions (e.g. sensory integration, motor skills training, functional skills)

  • Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

Family & Caregiver Engagement

  • Educate and coach parents/caregivers on home programmes

  • Collaborate closely with families to support carryover of therapy goals

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

  • Work alongside physiotherapists, speech therapists, and educators

  • Participate in case discussions and integrated care planning

Clinical Governance & Quality

  • Support development of SOPs, clinical protocols, and outcome measures

  • Ensure adherence to professional and ethical standards (aligned with Allied Health Professions Council guidelines)

  • Contribute to audit, quality improvement, and service reviews

Service Development

  • Assist in developing new programmes (e.g. school readiness, sensory clinics)

  • Contribute to community outreach and workshops where relevant

Requirements

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognised institution

  • Fully registered with the Allied Health Professions Council (or eligible for registration)

  • Minimum 3 years of OT experience (preferred for senior, paediatric experience)

  • Experience in sensory integration, developmental therapy, or early intervention is highly desirable

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Experience in setting up or scaling therapy services

  • Interest in clinical governance or leadership

  • Experience supervising junior therapists or therapy assistants
